Mitcham Reserve
& Wirrapinga
Play Space
This playground is a mix of traditional play ground spaces and nature play elements incorporating and inspired by local history.
Two play spaces are split through the middle by Willawilla / Brownhill Creek. One side features the 'Elf Tower', with slides, horse and cart, weathervane, swings, and climbing logs. Across the footbridge to the other side of the creek there are more swings, balancing ropes, carved animals, rock climbs and artworks inspired by the traditional owners of the local area.
These are the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples, who knew the area well, especially the reserve location where they often camped.
